Internships

HLM's internship program exposes undergraduate and graduate students to the development, implementation, and evaluation of health literacy programs and activities, and provides opportunities to experience health literacy action.

Interns learn about the application of health literacy, plain language, and communication strategies to lower barriers to health care among a variety of audiences.

Current internship opportunities

HLM is accepting intern applications for the following opportunities, which may include work on the C3T program.

Business Administration Internship

Business administration interns can expect to be involved in a variety of business administration tasks, such as providing general administration support, assisting with event coordination and mail processing, and researching solutions for enhanced efficiency.

Public Health and Social Work Internship

Public health and social work interns can expect to be involved in a variety of program tasks, such as creating content for trainings or community-based activities, conducting literature reviews, and assisting with data entry and analysis.

Communications Specialist Internship

Communication interns can expect to be involved in a variety of communication tasks, such as growing HLM's online presence, developing digital content, tracking and analyzing digital media.

Deadlines

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until internships are filled for the semester. The general deadlines are:

  • Spring semester:
         Apply by December 1

  • Summer semester:
         Apply by April 1

  • Fall semester:
         Apply by July 15
